Obituary

CHICOPEE – Diana Lee (Terault) Niemiec, 69, of Pittsfield and a longtime resident of the Willimansett section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Saturday, March 3, 2018. She passed into Eternal Life at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Holyoke on March 12, 1948, a beloved daughter of the late Arthur J. and Shirley (Redfern) Terault. She was raised in Holyoke, graduated from Holyoke High School and lived in Willimansett for most of her life. She was a self- employed bookkeeper working for various companies in the surrounding area. Above all, Diana loved spending time with her family and her many friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Frederick M. Niemiec who was Called Home on January 11, 2011. They were married on August 5, 1967 at Saint Anthony of Padua Church in Chicopee and were blessed with over 43 years of happiness together. She leaves her two loving and devoted sons, Paul F. Niemiec and his wife, Laurie, and Robert A. Niemiec and his wife, Sarah, all of Westfield; her five cherished grandchildren, Cameron, Connor, Andrew, Benjamin and Ella Niemiec; her loving step-mother, Beatrice Abatiello Terault of Rhode Island; her dear brother, John Terault of New Hampshire; her two dear sisters, Margaret “Peggy” Falcetti and her husband, Anselm “Sam” Falcetti, of Wilbraham and Katherine Weeks; her two dear sisters-in-law, Susan Terault of Chicopee and Suzanne Niemiec of Suffield, CT; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Niemiec, Terault and Abatiello families. Her funeral will be held on Friday morning, March 9, 2018 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 8 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Saint Anthony of Padua Church, 56 Saint Anthony Street, Chicopee, MA 01013. Her Burial will follow the Mass at Saint Stanislaus Cemetery, 800 Montgomery Street, Chicopee, MA 01013. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday morning, March 9, 2018 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. before the Mass. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family has requested that memorial donations be made in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452. For more details, please visit:
