New Bedford – Teresa daLuz (Mendes) Garcia, age 50, of New Bedford, passed away on, March 4, 2018 at St. Luke’s Hospital with her family at her side. She was the beloved wife of Aguinaldo Garcia and daughter of the late Antonia Maria (daLuz) and Andre Mendes. Teresa was born in the Cape Verde Islands.
She is survived by her husband; her children, Alex, Jailson and Cleusa Garcia; stepchildren, Rafael and Adelino Garcia and Suzana Silva; 12 stepgrandchildren; as well as a sister, Agueda daLuz Mendes Almeida.
Teresa’s visiting hours will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2018 from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M at the funeral home. Her funeral will be held on Friday morning at Perry Funeral Home, beginning at 9:30 A.M. and followed by a service at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in Rural Cemetery.
