Obituary

WEBSTER - Lorraine D. (Lapierre) Janton, 92, formerly of Webster, died Thursday, March 1, 2018 in Westview Nursing Care and Rehab in Dayville, CT after a brief illness. Her husband of 37 years, Anthony F. Janton, died in 1984.

She leaves a son, David S. Janton of Rogers, CT; a daughter, Mary E. Guillette and her husband Robert of Putnam, CT; 5 grandchildren, Lauren Guillette-St.Onge and her husband William of Scotland, Robert Guillette of Millbury, Tesia Janton of Danielson, CT, Casey Janton of Port Richey, FL and Toni Janton of Michigan; 5 great-grandsons; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Rachel Love and Cecile Porter.

She was born and raised in Webster, a daughter of Treffle and Elizabeth (Daigle) Lapierre. She lived in Woodstock, CT for over 25 years before moving to Dayville in 2012. She graduated from Bartlett High School in 1943 and then from Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Worcester.

A registered nurse, Mrs. Janton first worked in the surgical unit at Webster District Hospital. She then was the nurse at Doctor Corrado’s office in Webster and later at Memorial Hospital in Worcester. She was the school nurse in the Webster School System for 17 years before retiring.

She was a member of Saint Louis Church. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, candlepin bowling and traveling. She had been a member of the Thompson Golf Club.

A memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, May 29, in Saint Louis Church, 14 Lake Street. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, Webster.
