Belmont-----John Rayburn Given, 86, of First Street died on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at his home.
John was born on November 29, 1931 in Baltimore, Maryland the son of the late John and Marie (Shields) Given. He was a veteran of the US Navy, he served during the Korean War from 1951 to 1954.
John was a machinist for thirty five years for the Raytheon Company in W. Andover, MA.
John was an avid football fan, especially of his beloved Baltimore Ravens. He was extremely active in Pop Warner Youth Football for many years. John enjoyed watching Orioles baseball. He also enjoyed saltwater sport fishing, and chased striped bass in Maryland and Massachusetts. He was a dedicated family man, a loving husband and a supportive father.
John is survived by his wife, Helen D. (Pickering) Given, of Belmont; three sons, Thomas Given and his wife, Doreen, Robert Given and his wife, Karen and Kenneth Given; a daughter, Donna Werda and her husband, Peter; a daughter-in-law, Johanne Given; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Weatherbee and her husband, Nicholas, Christine Norian and her husband, Joseph, David Werda, and his wife, Kathryn, Ashley Raspuzzi and her husband, Dawson, Sean Given and his partner Kelsey Goodridge, Daniel Given and Joshua Given; nine great grandchildren, Lyla Norian, Andrew "AJ" Norian, Calen Werda, Maxwell Werda, Nash Weatherbee, Addison Raspuzzi and Colby Raspuzzi and several nephews and nieces. In addition to his parents he is predeceased by a sister, Jean M. Zawitoski.
There will be no calling hours.
A Funeral Service with Military Honors will be held on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at 11:00am in the Chapel at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH.
