Obituary

Francis X. "Frankie" Keough, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at his home in Charlestown. He was 83 years of age.

Frankie was born at home in Charlestown on January 27, 1935, a son of the late Peter J. Keough and Veronica M. (McNally) Keough. He grew up in Charlestown where he attended St. Francis De Sales Parochial School and graduated from Boston Trade High School in 1953. He furthered his education by receiving an Associates degree from Newbury Junior College. Frankie entered into the United States Navy on July 2, 1953 and served his country with honor and pride during the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged on June 27, 1957 with the rank of Radarman Second Class. Frankie worked as a Letter Carrier for the United States Postal Service until he retired in 1985 after 32 years of dedicated service. Frankie enjoyed watching college football and hockey games. One of Frankie's biggest enjoyments in his life was the quality times he spent with his grandchildren at Hampton Beach, New Hampshire.

Frankie is the beloved husband of 59 years to Gerty (Connolly) Keough. He is the devoted father of Frank Keough Jr. and his wife Robin, Paula Keough and her husband Dan, Jack Keough and his late wife Sandy, Denise Keough-Lane and Danny Keough and his wife Marie. He is the loving Grandpa to Christina, Erica, Jennifer, Jessica, Allie, Amanda, Patrick, Maggie, Megan, Joseph, Harry, and to his great-grandchildren Mackenzie, Liam, Luke, and Robert. He is the beloved brother of John Keough, Gina O'Callahan, Tom Keough, and the late Peter Keough and Marty Keough. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Frankie's Funeral on Friday, March 2, 2018 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. His burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. His visiting hours will be on Thursday, March 1, 2018 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
