Joseph T. Lajoie, 88, of Berlin, passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at the Coos County Nursing Home in Berlin after a period of declining health. He was born in Old Town, ME the son of the late Albert & Agnes (Gauvin) Lajoie and served in the United States Army, 82nd Airborne Division. Joseph resided in Berlin for over 50 years, during that time he owned and operated Lajoie Paving Company, Rental Business and Lajoie Garden Center. He was a member of Good Shepherd Parish.
Family includes his sons Ronald Lajoie and wife Corrine of Hopkinton, NH, Roger Lajoie and wife Lorraine of Gorham, NH, and daughter Susan Coulombe and husband Brian of Berlin, NH; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a step brother Frank Chaisson of Old Town, ME; sister Frances of Florida; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife Jacqueline M. Lajoie and a daughter Debra Lajoie.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 10:00 AM at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to call at the funeral home on Friday March 23 from 6-8 PM. Anyone who wishes may make a donation in his memory to a charity of one’s choice.
