Obituary

Eva M. (Patton) McGuinness age 76 of Middleboro died February 21, 2018 at the Hannah B.G. Shaw Home surrounded by her family after a lengthy illness. She was the loving wife for 58 years of Walter H. McGuinness (ret. BPD). Eva was born and raised in Brockton a daughter of the late Arthur and Irene (Perrault) Patton. She had lived in Oak Point for the past 13 years and previously Westport.

Eva had been a sales rep for Mary Kay cosmetics, worked in the bakery department in Fernandes Supermarket and as a cafeteria aide in the Brockton public schools.

In her free time she loved to travel to the Caribbean and casinos, Westport, walking the beach and bowling. She also enjoyed sewing and making pillows to give to friends and was a member of several book clubs.

Eva will be remembered as a very social woman who loved people. She always had a kind word for everyone, even a stranger. Most importantly she cherished time with her family.

Eva was survived by her three children Mark McGuinness and his wife Kathy of New Hampshire, Eraine McGuinness and her wife Karen of Massachusetts and Lorne McGuinness and his wife Jeannine of Massachusetts. She leaves 5 grandchildren Melissa, Chelsea, Ethan, Kyla and Evan and a great granddaughter Melledy. She was the sister of William Patton and his wife Kathy of Hanson. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (rte. 123) Brockton on Monday 4-7pm. Funeral Service in the funeral home on Tuesday at 10am followed by burial in Blue Hill Cemetery.
