Obituary

George David Adams, 70 of Eastham, passed away on Saturday, February 17 after a 2 year battle with cancer. He was the husband of Sharon (Schoen) Adams.

Young George, as he was called by his closest friends and family, was born on October 31, 1947 at Cape Cod Hospital and raised in Provincetown. He is predeceased by his father, Captain George Adams and his mother Victoria.

George was an avid sports fan, having played football and basketball for Provincetown High, and always watched his favorite sports teams when he could whether it would be the Patriots in the winter, the Red Sox in the summer, or the Celtics in between.

He was also a dedicated family man, working nonstop his whole adult life as a scalloper, like his father before him and as a member of the Cape Cod National Seashore maintenance crew, not to mention the numerous side jobs during harder times. He was so dedicated he even returned to work after recovering from his cancer a second time, putting in as many hours as he was able.

George loved Cape Cod. He loved the ocean. He loved the ponds, the trees, his friends and family and all those things that make Cape Cod special, and like those things he was special. He was a fiery and passionate man, oft times hilarious and always up for a good time

He leaves behind his four sons Geoffrey, Jeremy, Christopher and Timothy, his four grandchildren Joel, Devin, Maia and Ty, his younger sister Victoria, and his wife of over forty years Sharon.

Family and friends are invited to call at the Gately Funeral Home, 94 Harry Kemp Way, Provincetown, between 4:00 to 7:00 pm, on Friday, February 23rd. Burial will be private.
