Obituary

Peter P. Parisi, of Medford, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Friday, February 16th at the Courtyard Nursing Care Center in Medford. He was 94.

Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Antonio and Valentina (Aiello) Parisi. Peter proudly served in the United States Army during WWII. He was a recipient of a Purple Heart and was honorable discharged on August 11, 1945.

Peter worked as a fish dealer and enjoyed his work very much. He was a hardworking man and cared for his family. A man of great faith, he attended Mass frequently and served as a Eucharistic Minister.

Peter was a fun-loving person with a wonderful sense of humor. Everyone loved him and he was always the life of the party. Peter’s kindness and loving demeanor will be greatly missed by all the lives he touched.

Peter was the beloved husband of Rose (Frontera) Parisi. The two married on November 24, 1946 at Sacred Heart Church in Boston’s North End. Together they shared 71 loving years of marriage. He was the devoted father of Vincent Parisi and his wife Denise of South Boston, and the late Anthony Parisi and his surviving wife Nancy of Somerville. Peter was the loving grandfather of Peter Parisi of Milton, Toni-Ann Squillante of Somerville, and her late husband Joseph, Andrea Parisi and her husband Aaron Hand of California, and the late Mark Parisi. He was the loving great grandfather of Gianni Squillante of Somerville, Elizabeth and Peter Hand-Parisi, both of California. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Rose Parisi of Revere and many loving nieces and nephews. Peter was preceded in death by his siblings, Frances Carcia and her husband Anthony, and Salvatore Parisi.

A funeral service will be celebrated in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main Street, Medford, on Thursday, February 22nd at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family from 9-10 AM. Interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Peter’s name may be sent to the Disabled American Veterans Memorial Program, PO Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-030.
