George R. “Bud” Tucker age 93 of Middleboro, formerly of Brockton, died Wednesday February 14, 2018 at Signature Healthcare/Brockton Hospital after a brief illness. He was the loving husband of the late Dorothy A. (Giovannini) Tucker.
Bud was born and raised in Brockton a son of the late Leslie M. and Edith M. (Coots) Tucker and was a 1943 graduate of Brockton High School. He was very involved on the class reunion planning committee and enjoyed the trips planned for their destination reunions.
Bud had been a manager for A&P Supermarkets in the South Shore area and then held that position with Tedeschi’s Supermarkets. In his retirement he had worked at Miskinis Auto in Bridgewater until 2005.
His garden and yard were his pride and joy and he also enjoyed traveling and watching all sports. When his children and grandchildren played sports he was their number one cheerleader.
Bud will be remembered as a man who worked hard to provide for his family but who also had a keen sense of humor. The greatest joy in his life was spending time with his family.
Bud was the father of William R. Tucker and his wife Ann of Middleboro, Barry M. Tucker and his wife Susan of East Bridgewater and Bonnie Tucker of Middleboro with whom he made his home. He also leaves three grandchildren William F. Tucker and his wife Dr. Veronica Tucker of Gilford, NH; Jennifer M. Tucker of Marshfield and her companion Michael Eagan and Michael G. Tucker and his companion Nichole Bean of Strafford, NH and two great grandchildren Olivia and Felicity Tucker. Bud was the brother of the late L. Melvin Tucker.
Visiting hours will held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (rte. 123) Brockton on Monday 4-7pm. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church 340 Center St. Middleboro, MA on Tuesday at 10am. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, W. Bridgewater.
