Obituary

Rachel Y. Hadley, 85, of Woonsocket died Wednesday February 7, 2018 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. She was the loving wife of the late Norbert Chavez who passed away in 2017.
Born and raised in Woonsocket she was a daughter of the late Leola and Blanche (Bonin) Bois. She lived for North Smithfield for many years and also resided in Arizona for many before returning to the Woonsocket area.
Rachel worked in the housekeeping department at several hotels in Laughlin, Nevada.
Rachel enjoyed camping and traveling. She was talented at making jewelry. Rachel loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by five sons George Hadley of Arizona, Michael Hadley of Pascoag, Kenneth Hadley of Cumberland, Wayne Hadley of Pascoag, Kyle Hadley of Mapleville and a daughter Barbara Desautels of Millville. She was the mother of the late William “Billy”, Steven “Beaver” and David Hadley. She was the sister of the late Armand and Roger Bois and Madeleine Crowder. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and their families.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday March 16, 2018 at 11:00 am in St. John's Church in Slatersville. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Arrangements are by the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket.
