Obituary

NEWTON: June Morrill Agranat, 83, formerly of Weston, died on February 9th, 2018 at Lasell House, surrounded by her family.
June was born in Newburyport in 1934 to the late Frank and Lillian (Pedersen) Morrill. She married Edward Agranat in 1957, and together they lived in Weston with their children, enjoying a life filled with travel, art, music, good food, and great friends. In 2008, she moved from Weston to Lasell Village where she made many new friends and continued her writing as well as taking many classes that were of interest to her.
June put herself through college and graduate school, earning a Master’s Degree in Journalism from Boston University in 1959, which launched her successful career as an award-winning copywriter and Creative Director in the field of advertising. In the mid 1970’s June co-founded the Children’s Center in Weston, then a ground-breaking child care cooperative for working mothers.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward, and her three brothers, Charles, Willard, and Earl. She is survived by her son, Ian, and his wife, Carol (Hani) of Concord, and her daughter, Alyssa, and her husband, Mathew (Muñoz) of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and her grandson, Sam-hyeong, of Concord.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at two o’clock at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (off Rte. 30), Wayland.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 26 Broadway, 14th floor, New York, NY 10004.
The family expresses gratitude to the staffs of Lasell House and Good Shepherd Community Care, both in Newton.
