Carmela (Pastore) Giso, of Medford, died on Wednesday, February 7th. She was 82. Born and raised in Anzano DiPuglia, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Carmine and Francesca (Mastrangelo) Pastore.
Carmela came to America on December 7th, 1969 from Anzano DiPuglia, Italy and settled in Medford, where she and Michele would raise their family. She was a loving mother and grandmother and neighbor, she will be remembered for the love she shared with her family and friends. She was known for always being supportive and committed in raising her children the best that she could. In addition to being such a committed parent she worked at the Universal Laundry Company for many years.
Carmela was the beloved wife of the late Michele Giso. She was the devoted mother of Grace Giso Gagliardi and her husband Frank of Lynnfield, Peter Giso of Medford, Joseph Michael Giso and his wife Ann Fernandes Giso of Woburn, and Carmine Giso and his wife Lisa Macchione Giso of Chicago. The loving grandmother of Mark and Simon Gagliardi, Michele, Carmela, Angela, Michael, Allyson Grace, Jimmy and Carmine Giso. Dear sister of Rosaria Mastrangelo, Michelina LoRusso both of Somerville and the late Giuseppe Pastore and Vita Maria Magaletta.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main Street, Medford on Monday, February 12 at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in Saint Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visting hours Sunday 4 -8 PM. Services will conclude with entombment at Holy Cross Mausoleum, Malden.
