Obituary

Rene M. LaFlamme, 74, of New Bedford, peacefully passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Sacred Heart Home with his family by his side. He was the son of the late Maxime E. "Mike" and Jeannette (Blanchette) LaFlamme.

Mr. LaFlamme was born and raised in Westport and had also resided in Florida for many years. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a mechanic for Vin's Motors, Fall River. He enjoyed working on cars and motorcycles and loved his pets.

Survivors include his 3 daughters: Renee LaFlamme of Westport, Carol Cieto of Westport and Cynthia Roseman of Fall River; his 2 sisters: Claire Mello of Westport and Diane Mello of Fall River; 5 grandchildren: Chelsea Lama, Michael Cieto, Kacie Spooner, Maxwell Jackson and Amelia Silvia; a great grandson: Connor Jackson; along with many nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Lucille Gullison.

The family would like to give special thanks to all the caregivers at Sacred Heart Nursing Home and Hope Hospice for the wonderful, compassionate care that they provided for Mr. LaFlamme.

Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Wednesday, February 7, 2018 from the Potter Funeral Home at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. George Church, Westport at 10:00 A.M.

Calling hours will be Tuesday day from 5-8 P.M.

Interment will be in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you go out and do a random act of kindness in honor of Mr. LaFlamme.
