Kirsti I. Milne, 88, long-time resident of Hanson, Massachusetts, and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away on February 2, 2018 at St. Joseph Manor Health Care in Brockton.
Kirsti was born in Karstula, Finland in 1928 to parents Emil and Laina Leppanen and came to the United States when she was four years old. When Emil passed away at a very young age, Laina re-married to Waino Nummelin, who became Kirsti’s step-father.
Kirsti was married for 56 years to her husband, the late Les Milne. She is survived by her step-brother Edwin Nummelin; sons Jim (Lori), Kevin and Stephen and daughter Lisa Manna, grandchildren Derek Manna, Michele Smith (Marc), Adam and Claire Milne, and great granddaughter Alaina Smith and her step-brother Edwin Nummelin.
Although her main profession was the loving care of her four children, in later years she worked at the Plymouth County Hospital as a dietary aide.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 11:00am on February 24th at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman, MA.
