Dartmouth – Gilda F. Teves, age 89 of New Bedford, passed away on Saturday, Ferbruary 3, 2018 at St Lukes Hospital with her family at her side. She was the wife of the late Antonio C. de Teves and the daughter of the late Violante F. (Ferreira) and Joao Inacio de Aguiar.
Gilda was born in Lomba do Cavaleiro Povoacao, St Michael, Azores. She worked as a Seamstress at Cliftex Corp. and was also a self-employed stitcher when she lived in Portugal.
She is survived by her daughters Ana M. Teves Raposo with her husband Jose, and Elizabeth Teves-Roda with her husband Alfredo; five grandchildren Sonia, Sara, Paul, Eric and Leslie and one great grandchild Jude; brothers Joao and Luis Aguiar and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Manuel, Maria and Gil.
Visiting hours will be Tuesday evening, from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be held Wednesday morning, beginning at 9:30 A.M. at Perry Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Mt. Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in St. John Cemetery.
