Marion– Seraphim Prenda, age 96, of Dartmouth, passed away on Friday, February 2, 2018 at Sippican Health Care Center, Marion. He was the husband of the late Lillian (Motta) Prenda and son of the late Estaphania (Botelho) and Joseph Costa Prenda
He is survived by his stepsister: Viola Cruz and niece: Linda Cabral and several other nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brothers: Manuel, Joseph and Antone Prenda, his step brothers: Arnold and Joe Lima and stepsister: Mabel Sylvia.
Mr. Prenda worked for the Water Department for the City of New Bedford for many years. He was a member of the Mount Carmel Seniors, the Moose Lodge and Clube Ponta Delgada. Seraphim was also a US Army Veteran of WWII
Seraphim’s funeral service will be Tuesday morning, February 6, 2018 beginning in the funeral home at 9:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Mt. Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in St. John Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours Monday from 3 – 6 P.M.
