Rose (Piccolomini) LaVorgna, of Dorchester, formerly of Somerville, died on Sunday, January 28th. She was 87. Born and raised in the Boston’s North End, she was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Aida (LaRiccia) Piccolomini.
Rose was a loving mother and grandmother, and she will be remembered for the love she shared with her family and friends. She was known to work hard and provided her children with the best that she could. Rose was a resident of Dorchester for the last twelve years, before relocating to New Hampshire.
Rose was the devoted mother of John LaVorgna and his wife Dianne, Patricia LaVorgna, Joanna Dalrymple and her daughter Christina; Aida LaVorgna, and the late Kathy Wilson. The loving grandmother of Joseph, Danielle, Aaron, Arielle, Ariana; Matthew and Tasha Cross. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral home, 306 Main Street, Medford on Thursday, February 1st at 10 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in Saint Benedict Church, 21 Hawthorne Street, Somerville, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday 4 – 8 PM. Service will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
