Dorothy (Grimes) Metzger, 87, of Anderson, died January 18, 2018, at her residence after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born April 21, 1930 in Anderson the daughter of Robert and Margaret (Byron) Grimes.
She was an accountant for various businesses most of her life before retiring from Raymond James Financial.
She was a member of Saint Mary's Catholic Church.
She is survived by her son, William (Jane) Metzger of Noblesville, daughter, Ann (Ben) Griner of Anderson and sister, Mary Alice Smith of Anderson; grandchildren, Jama (Scott) Donovan; Jeff (Alida) Griner and J.T. (Karen) Metzger; great grandchildren, Nolan and Davis Donovan; Luke, Harlow and Cora Griner, Emily and Jack Metzger; former daughter-in-law, Kathy Metzger; special friends the Cornells and several nieces, nephews.
She was preceded in death by parents, her granddaughter, Carey A. Griner on January 30, 1997; her husband, William Metzger, brothers, Bob, Jack, Harry and Bill Grimes and sister, Margie Grimes..
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, January 22, 2018, at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Father Daniel Shine officiating. Burial will follow in East Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be two hours prior to the service Monday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to American Cancer Society, Children's Bureau or the charity of the donor's choice.
