Obituary

Bruce Robert Wagner, age 74, entered into rest on January 16, 2018 at his home in Prosser. He was born on April 15, 1943 to Daniel Wesley and Arlene Ruth (Jenny) Wagner in Prosser where he was raised and educated, graduating from Prosser High School with the class of 1961. He played Prosser Mustang Football and was named as All Valley Player at the position of tackle. His love for Prosser ran deep in the adventures he had with family and friends. After graduation, he attended Columbia Basin College. Bruce and Barbara J. Schmitz were married on April 16, 1966 in Yakima and the couple raised four children in Prosser. Bruce was a skilled machinist and took pride in his craft. He worked hard for his family as a metal fabricator for Metal Fab in West Richland and later for Monarch Machine in Pasco until retiring.

Bruce was an avid storyteller and if he had an opinion about something you probably knew what it was. He was always there to lend a hand and give help to those who needed it. He enjoyed all that the great outdoors had to offer especially, camping, fishing and hunting. He was a member of SCI International, Friends of the NRA, Horse Heaven Hills Sportsman Society and a life member of the NRA. Later in life he was baptized in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Bruce is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughter, Jennifer Peterson (Larry); sons, Brian Wagner (Tanya), Geoff Wagner (Jennifer) and Kevin Wagner (Julie), grandchildren, Elizabeth and Abigail Peterson, Austin and Bailey Wagner (Debra) and Kaleb Wagner, and one grandson due in April; his sister, Lois DeVriend (Don), brother, Allan Wagner; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, David Wagner; and his sister, Marlene Henry.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 AM on Monday, January 22, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Prosser. Concluding services and burial will follow at the Prosser Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Shriners Hospitals for Children. You may leave a message for the family at www.prosserfuneralhome.com
