Obituary

Frederick A. Greeley, age 91 of Canton passed away January 18th at the Milton Hospital. Born in Boston, he was raised in Hyde Park, graduated from Hyde Park High School and went on to serve in the Navy during WW II. He was a Patrolman for the Boston Police Department for 42 years before retiring. Through the Police Department, he also worked at the Roxbury Criminal Court as a Clerk and was an active member of the Police Benevolent Assn. He has lived in Canton for the last 40 years and was a member of St. Gerard Majella Church. Fred was an avid Patriots and Red Sox Fan, enjoyed golf, and spending time at the beach on Cape Cod. He was a talented baseball player in high school and was the Coach and Manager for the Boston Police Softball Team and a Pop Warner Referee for many years.
Beloved husband of Mary V. (Stronjy). Father of June-Ann Greeley and her husband John Blossom of Guilford, CT. Grandfather of Christopher Frederick Blossom of Guilford, CT. Son of the late Fred and Jenny Greeley. Brother of Robert Greeley of Norwood, Thomas Greeley of Dedham, John Greeley and Marion Moore both of Readville, Janet Reppetto of Billerica, Carol Belger of N.H. and the late Anthony Greeley and Ann Caruso. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Friday January 26th from 4-8 pm. Funeral Mass at St. Gerard Majella Church Canton Saturday January 27th at 10 am. Burial Canton Corner Cemetery.
