Obituary

Hanover – Carol Ringquist passed away peacefully after a long illness on Monday January 15, 2017.

Born in Tarrytown, NY, she lived in Ossining New York with her parents and sister (Walter L. and Julia E., and Marion). She enjoyed fishing, gardening, swimming and beaching, music, cooking, traveling, art, history, animals, and above all, people. Carol moved to Boston to attend and graduate from Boston University. She was a very much loved and cherished daughter, sister, aunt, wife, step-mother, and friend. She was a devoted aunt to her nephew, Russell Delaney. Carol, her sister, and nephew lived for many years in Quincy before she moved to Hanover.

Carol was an awesome cook, a creative and successful gardener (for both food and beauty). She had a talent for developing empty spaces into peaceful and exciting works of art through gardening. She loved the ocean, the beach, swimming and fishing, and animals. Carol was an enthusiastic traveler, and was especially fond of Italy, Greece, and Red Rock Canyon in Nevada. Carol was fluent in 5 languages. Throughout her long career in human resources and many other aspects of her life she was able to use all of them frequently.

Carol had a good sense of humor, she was loyal to friends (while making them easily and often). She carried the family tradition as a stubborn but essentially cheerful Swede and carried that tradition forward in battling her illness. She is survived by her sister Marion Ringquist, her nephew, Russell Delaney, and his wife, Joanne Delaney.
