Barbara F. (Fontaine) Lewis, age 82, of Taunton passed away on January 15, 2018 at the Braemoor Health Center in Brockton. She was the wife of the late Malcolm H.. Lewis. Barbara was born in Roslindale, the daughter of the late Francis & Gladys (Crawford) Fontaine. She grew up in Hyde Park, Boston, but lived most of her life in Taunton. She worked as a cashier for Stop and Shop for many years. Barbara was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for several years and also served as President. While a member of the Legion, she traveled extensively to attend national meetings and conferences. She enjoyed playing bingo at various Taunton venues and also loved to listen to country music. An avid Red Sox fan; she watched almost all Red Sox games, either in the stands or on TV. She also took great pleasure in watching her grandchildren play in various sports. She is survived by her children David Lewis and his wife Elizabeth and Jeanie Grealish and her husband Michael all of Taunton, John Lewis of Taunton and Deborah Dexter and her husband Edwin of Fall River and the late William & Thomas Lewis. She also leaves her 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. A funeral home service will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, Ma 02780 on Monday, January 22nd at 11 am. Relatives and friends are also invited to visitation prior to the service from 10-11 am. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery in Taunton.
