Obituary

Ronald (Wiggy) Wegrzyn, 64, beloved husband of Anita (Albano) Wegrzyn passed away suddenly on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Baystate Medical Center. Ron was born on June 9, 1953 in Holyoke to the late Josephine (Minkos) Barna. He graduated from Chicopee Comprehensive High School and was employed by Balise Collision Center in West Springfield. Ron was an avid car enthusiast who built many antique cars throughout the years. He frequently attended cruise nights and stock car races and was a member of the Mass Embalmers Chapter 4 Car Club. He and Anita enjoyed going to Mohegan Sun as well as their trips to Disney and Lake George. He leaves his loving wife Anita Wegrzyn of Chicopee; his daughter Stacie Albano and her partner Nicholas Bergeron of Colebrook, CT and two grandchildren Julia and Mark. He also leaves two brothers John (Skip) Barna and his wife Jeanette of Southwick and Larry Wegrzyn of Easthampton; one sister-in-law Angie Jacque and her husband Marty of Hampden and many nephews. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 10 a.m. from Grise Funeral Home 280 Springfield St. Chicopee with a Moment of Reflection to take place at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in St Rose de Lima Cemetery. Calling Hours will be held on Friday, January 19, 2018 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Ron was not a fan of formal attire. Please dress in your favorite car cruise attire for the calling hours and funeral. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made in Ron’s name to the T.J. O’Connor Animal Shelter or to the Dakin Humane Society.
