Obituary

Henry A. Kalinowski, 86, formerly of Leicester, died Friday January 12, 2018 in Overlook Health Care Center, Charlton. His wife of fifty-eight years, Therese M. (Kiewra) Kalinowski died in 2013. He is survived by his children; sons, Michael A. Kalinowski and his wife Leslie of Worcester, Thomas F. Kalinowski and his wife Susan of Westborough; daughters, Jo-Ann M. Smith and her husband Casey of Encinitas, CA and Mary-Ellen Lindquist of Spencer; eleven grandchildren, six great grandchildren. Henry was born in Worcester, the son of Anthony and Stefania (Rembiszewski) Kalinowski.
Mr. Kalinowski worked as a temperer for Thompson Steel and Wire and later Concord Wire Company, retiring in 1991. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church and a former member of the Polish American Veterans. His interest in history led him to be an avid reader of World War II works. Besides reading, he enjoyed working large jigsaw puzzles and watching old movies and programs related to World War II. He was a lifelong fan of baseball and the Boston Red Sox.
The funeral will be held on Monday, January 22, 2018 from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 10:30 am in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery.
