Daniel V. Cardoza, 77, of Fairhaven died January 15, 2018 peacefully at home surrounded by his family.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Manuel and Maria (Vieira) Cardoza, he lived in New Bedford most of his life.
Mr. Cardoza was formerly employed as a mason with the City of New Bedford for many years until his retirement. He took pride in his work as a mason, some of his works include the Holocaust Memorial, the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick Memorial and Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial.
He enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include his caregiver and love of his life and longtime companion of 28 years, Marianne McCrindle of Fairhaven; a son, Gregory Cardoza and his wife Patricia L. Freitas of Lakeville; his former wife, Lorraine (Denault) Mullaly of Punta Gorda, FL; 3 sisters, Dolores Leger, Dorothy Gallant and Irene Chausse, all of New Bedford; 2 grandchildren, Sean Cardoza and Audrey Cardoza; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Manuel Cardoza, Joseph Cardoza, James Cardoza, Mary Chevalier, Rose Gonsalves and Alice Cardoza.
His Funeral will be held on Friday, January 19th at 8:45 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by his Funeral Mass at St. John Neumann Church at 10 AM. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, January 18th from 4-8 PM.
