Betty J. Campbell (69) of Brockton died January 14th in the Good Samaritan Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the Rev. Edward Campbell Jr.
She was born in Charleston, South Carolina daughter of the late Thomas and Edith (Moultrie) LaBoard and attended schools in Charleston. She worked as a monitor for Self Help of Brockton. Betty also assisted her husband as an assistant pastor for the New Jerusalem Tabernacle of Prayer Church in East Bridgewater. She was named "Women of the Year" in 2013 for creating the soup kitchen in Brockton. Betty loved to cook, decorate, sing, shop and give all a helping hand.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her loving daughter LaRonda Campbell of Brockton, 5 sons, Jeffrey J. of Easton, Carlton L. of Brockton, Darnell of San Diego, California, Christopher M. of Bridgewater and Leonard J. Campbell of Rhode Island, 17 grand and 5 great grandchildren, 3 brothers, Thomas LaBoard of South Carolina, Ronald and John LaBoard both of Brockton, 2 sisters, Carol Grant and Brenda Hunt both of South Carolina.
Funeral Services will be celebrated in the New Jerusalem Tabernacle of Prayer Church, 125 Highland Street East Bridgewater Saturday January 20th at 10 am. Burial will be held January 22nd at 1:45 pm in the VA National Cemetery, Bourne. Visitation in the Church, Friday January 19th from 6-8 pm.
