Obituary

John J. “Jack” Hill, Jr. age 58 of Foxboro, formerly of Canton and Randolph passed away January 14th at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital. Born in Dorchester he was raised in Canton and graduated from Canton High School Class of 1978 and Blue Hill Technical School with a Certificate in Diesel Mechanics. He worked as a Safety Coach for Verizon for the last 33 years. He was an active member of the Town of Randolph, where he was a 3rd Degree Member and Treasurer of the Knights of Columbus Council 129, a Consultant for the Randolph Zoning Board, former DPW Commissioner and a Town Meeting Member. He enjoyed flying and aspired to get his Private Pilot’s License, enjoyed camping at the Saco River, playing with his grandchildren, volunteering at the Bay State Games and carpentry.
Beloved husband of Carol J. Barry-Hill. Father of Katelyn Hill of Randolph, Ashley Keenan and her husband Nathaniel of Dorchester, Casey and John J. Hill III both of Randolph and the late Jaimie Hill. Stepfather of Robert Curran and his wife Vicky of N. Attleboro, Richard Curran and his wife Jaime of Lowell, Timothy Curran and his significant other Michaela Harris of N. Attleboro and Jennifer Curran and her significant other Colby Roy of Medway. Son of the late John J., Sr. and Honora (Osborne) Hill. Grandfather of Joe, Ricky, Will and Grayson Curran. Brother of Honor M. Stanton of Foxboro and Christine Smith and her husband Barry of Canton. Son in law of Robert C. and Vera C. Barry of Canton. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Friday 4-8 pm. Funeral Mass at St. John the Evangelist Church Canton Saturday at noon. Burial private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Joslin Diabetes Center 1 Joslin Pl., Boston, MA 02215.
