Obituary

Nancy Dall Mullahy of Wellesley passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at age 80, surrounded by her family.

Nancy was the beloved wife of the late William M. (Bill) Mullahy; devoted mother of the late Diane, Laura of Cambridge, and Andrew and his wife Molly of South Natick; and proud grandmother of William and Maggie. She also leaves her brother Robert and sister-in-law Eleanor Dall of Arlington; her closest cousin Isabelle Milam of Framingham; her sisters- and brothers-in-law Mary Rommell of Lexington, Clare and Robert Mungovan of Wellesley, Joan and John Riley of Wellesley, and John and Diane Mullahy of Sudbury; 25 nieces and nephews; and many cherished life-long friends.

Nancy’s upbringing in Cambridge was strongly influenced by her Scottish roots; many aunts, uncles, and cousins lived within a few blocks of her home in Central Square. After graduating from Cambridge High and Latin School, she worked in Boston and San Francisco before marrying Bill, whom she had met when they both worked at Baird Atomic in Cambridge. Nancy was proud to be defined by her commitment to her husband and family. After moving to follow Bill’s career, including two years in Hong Kong, in 1973 they settled in Wellesley, where Nancy developed life-long friendships and bonds. While family was her priority, she also worked in various positions in the community over the years, and was most fulfilled by her volunteer work in the offices of St. John the Evangelist Church.

Nancy enjoyed music, sewing, quilting, crossword puzzles, and maintaining her many friendships. Her grandchildren Billy and Maggie provided her greatest joy and immense pride.

Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Nancy’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, the Arthritis Foundation, and the Women’s Lunch Place of Boston.
