Obituary

Emma (Lobley) Regele passed away peacefully on January 9, 2018 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in the city of Boston of which she was so fond.

Born on August 31, 1932, in Mt. Vernon, New York, to the late Budd and Marion Tenney Lobley, she was raised in White River Junction, Vermont, and subsequently on the farm in Ellsworth, Maine. This laid the foundation for her deep love of nature and passion for gardening.

She graduated from Ellsworth High School and pursued her higher education at Eastern Maine General Hospital in Bangor, where she earned her degree in Nursing. Her first job was at New England Deaconess Hospital in Boston as an operating room nurse. She did private care nursing and retired as a recovery room R.N. at Framingham Union Hospital.

She was married to Paul Vincent Regele of Auburndale, Massachusetts on October 18, 1956. They resided in Waltham before moving to their new home and lifelong residence in Natick. It was here that they raised their two daughters, Carole Ann and Susan Lynn.

She liked to have fun and enjoyed walking, bike riding, swimming, cross-country skiing, camping, and travel. She delighted in a strong cup of tea, and ice cream at any time of year. She was active in the Natick Garden Club in her later years.

She was loved dearly by her daughter Carole Regele-Rucker and her grandson Kevin Rucker, her son-in-law Paul Monaco, his wife Joan and their family, her brother Ted Lobley and Anitra Lilly, her nieces Cathy Lobley Dougherty, Dr. Kimberly Hill Kelli Lobley, their mother Lynda Chinn, and their families.

Her extended family, Sally Newhall and her children Madeline, Olivia, and Jared Newhall-Thayer were loving companions and a source of constant care and support.

Amie Boggis and family, Jessica Greenwald-O’Brien and family, and the Zwick family were treasured neighbors who welcomed and embraced her into their lives as one of their own.

Rhea Gallagher and her family were devoted to her well-being and provided many years of happiness and laughter.

Emma was kind and formed many lasting friendships that she held dear: Barbara Keough and family, Priscilla Carlson, Della (Page) Brennan, Debra Barnicle, the Krupski family, the Copen family, the Magliozzi family, Marybeth Spellman, and Avril Bacon. She is survived by her cousins Nancy Newhall of Cochituate, and Marge Turner of East Bethel, Vermont, all of whom she adored.

Emma is reunited with her daughter Susan Lynn Monaco (d. January 12, 1987), her husband Paul V. Regele (d. June 6, 1996), her next door neighbor Molly Zwick (d. May 27, 2005), and many other loved ones awaiting her arrival.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral at 11:30 AM on Saturday, January 27th, 2018 in the Chapel of John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St. at Natick Common.
