Obituary

LACONIA - Leonce J. "Pete" Goupil, 87, of 148 Warren Street, died Friday, January 12, 2018 in his home.

He was born on May 5, 1930 in Laconia, the son of the late Joseph and Roseanne (Remillard) Goupil. Pete served in the US Army. Pete owned and operated a Texaco Station on Church Street in Laconia for a number of years and also worked for Pike Industries. He worked for several years for Laconia Public Works, retiring as Supervisor in 1992. Pete also ran a small welding business in Laconia. He was a member of the St. Jean Club and enjoyed fishing and spending time with family.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon (Tilton) Goupil of Laconia, five daughters; Nancy M. Cailler of Bow, Alice Petell of Laconia, Anita Eisenhauer of Laconia, Brenda Curran of Laconia and Bernadette Newell of Gilford, one step-son, Todd Corey of Tilton, ten grandchildren; Lara, Eric, Sharon, Christine, Sara, Charles, Nicole, Jesse, Christopher and Alyssa, three step-grandchildren; Austin, Gregory and Bryce, thirteen great grandchildren; Ashley, Samantha, Brittany, Caleb, Ava, Jacob, Trenten, Arianna, Emily, Jeffrey, Connor, Domenyk and Hunter and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Eva Marie (Jarvis) Goupil in 1998, one daughter, Rose M. Pineo in 2001, two brothers, Normand Goupil and Lionel "Patrick" Goupil, two sisters; Cecile Hardy and Rachel Perkins and on step-daughter, Shari Hunt.

Calling hours will be held from 2PM to 4PM and from 7PM to 9PM on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, using the Carriage House entrance.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30AM on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at St. Andre Bessette Parrish - Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Avenue, Laconia.

Burial will follow in the family plot at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Garfield Street, Laconia.
