Gladys (Asaff) McQuillan 86, of Wayland, formerly of Auburndale, died peacefully on Monday, January 8. Gladys was born in Boston, MA, the daughter of the late George and Minnie (Fakoury) Asaff. Formerly a long-time physician’s secretary at Newton-Wellesley Hospital, she also worked at the Williams School for over 30 years. Gladys loved traveling, gardening, reading, and sewing. Along with her husband, she also enjoyed volunteering at the Auburndale Library for many years. Most of all, Gladys loved spending time with her devoted husband, children, and grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Robert William McQuillan, son Brian McQuillan and his wife Valerie of Natick, daughters Louise Kirby and her husband Jack of Maryland, Brenda Pecevich and her husband David of Connecticut, Lynda McQuillan of Natick, and beloved grandchildren Christina and Meghan Kirby, Jennifer and Carolyn McQuillan, Mitchell, Devin and wife Tiffany, and Kyle Pecevich, and Justin Pacheco. She is also survived by her sister Louise Toney and several nieces and nephews.
The family welcomes you to a memorial service on Saturday, January 27th at 3:30PM. It will be held at the United Parish of Auburndale, 64 Hancock St., Newton (Auburndale), MA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Gladys to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org or to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org.
