Obituary

DUDLEY – Maria (Niemiec) Debski, 95, died Friday, January 12, 2018 in Webster Manor after a period of declining health. Her husband of 59 years, Stefan Debski, died in 2004.

She leaves 2 sons, Stanley Debski and his wife Grazyna of Fabyan, CT and George Debski and his wife Dorota of Willington,CT; 6 grandchildren, Christopher, Leszek, Grzegorz and his wife Dana, Monica Calabrese and her husband Peter, Stefan and his wife Breonna and Monika; a great-grandson Greyson; 2 sisters, Zofia Kokosinski and Aniela Jankowska, both of Dudley; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Katarzyna Bryniarski and Anna Krzyston and by a brother, Jan Niemiec.

She was born and raised in Rogoznik, Poland, a daughter of Stanislaw and Katarzyna (Mazgaj) Niemiec. She lived in a forced labor camp in Germany for 6 years during World War II. She earned her high school diploma in the 1950’s and moved to Dudley in 1972.

Mrs. Debski was a homemaker in Poland. She worked as a weaver at Anglo Fabrics in Webster for 17 years, retiring in 1989.

She was a communicant of Saint Andrew Bobola Church and volunteered at church festivals for many years. She enjoyed her vegetable and flower gardens, baking and cooking and going fishing with her husband.

The funeral will be held Monday, January 15, from Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main St., Webster, with a Mass at 11:00 AM in St. Andrew Bobola Church, 54 W. Main St., Dudley. Burial will be in St. Joseph Garden of Peace, Webster. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Sunday, January 14, in the funeral home. Donations in her name may be made to St. Andrew Bobola Church, 54 West Main St., PO Box 98, Dudley, MA 01571-0098. Arrangements are under the direction of Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, Webster.
