Bonny “Fred” Tawzer, 76, of Tifton passed away Thursday, January 11, 2018, at Tift Regional Medical Center. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 13, 2018, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Marshall Kennedy officiating. Mr. Tawzer will be laid to rest at Wayside Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, January 13, 2018, from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
David Kyle Tawzer, Joshua Michael Barnes and Tony Tawzer will be among those serving as pallbearers.
Born November 17, 1941 in Colquitt County, Mr. Tawzer was the son of the late Henry Tawzer and Geneva Graham Tawzer. He was also preceded in death by one brother. During his working career, he was employed at J. P. Stevens, which became Text Tech and then Queen Carpet, where he was a supervisor. He was then former owner of Tawzer Carpet and Tile Company and was currently employed with Mike Delk Flooring. He was a member of Corinth Baptist Church and a veteran of the United States Army.
Mr. Tawzer is survived by his wife, Faye Parkerson Tawzer of Tifton; one son, Ricky Tawzer of Tifton; one daughter, Denise Day of Tifton; two sisters, Jacqueline Turner of Heflin, Alabama and Sheila Joy Stone of Tifton; and four grandsons, Richard Anthon y Tawzer, David Kyle Tawzer, Thomas Quitman Day and Joshua Michael Barnes.
