Allen D. Falconer, 71

Dateline: Norton, MA

Allen D. Falconer, age 71, of Norton, formerly of Walpole, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 12, 2018 at Morton Hospital in Taunton. He was the beloved husband of Christina A. (Hazlett) Falconer.

Born in Norwood, MA on October 13, 1946, he was a loving son of the late Donald MacKenzie Falconer and Edna (Rombola) Falconer.

Allen grew up in Walpole and was a 1965 graduate of Walpole High School. He had made his home in Norton for the past forty-two years.

Prior to retiring, Mr. Falconer had been employed as a Water System Technician for the Walpole Department of Public Works. He also worked part time for over twenty years at Beta Community Partnerships.

An active communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Norton, Allen served the parish as a Eucharist Minister, a Lector, an Altar Server, a Religious Education Teacher and for his faithful services, was the proud recipient of the Marian Medal.

Allen loved spending time in the presence of his adoring family, especially with his grandsons. He treasured times spent outdoors, whether it was gardening, maintaining his yard or relaxing in the pool.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his devoted sons Steven T. Falconer and his wife Jennifer of Whitinsville, and David A. Falconer and his wife Lyn of Douglas. He was the cherished grandfather of Collin, Nathan and Mason. He was the dear brother of Janice Tower of Norton, Judy Martorano and her husband Philip of Walpole, Donald Falconer of New York, and Robert Falconer and his wife Lisa of Rhode Island. He is also survived by several generations of loving nieces and nephews.

His funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 16th at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 1 Power St., Norton. Burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery in Walpole.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, January 15th from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton.

Allen’s family has requested and would prefer that in lieu of flowers, donations in his memory be made to the Beta Community Partnerships, 146 Bank St., Attleboro, MA 02703.
