Obituary

Etta A. Taylor, 81, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Thursday, January 11, 2018, at Pruitt Health Fitzgerald, Georgia.

Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Saturday, January 13, 2018, at Crossview Baptist Church in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Jeff Parmer officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the sanctuary on Saturday.

Mrs. Taylor was born October 8, 1936, in Haleyville, Alabama, to the late John Sherman & Nancy Coan Arthur. She received her LPN training at the former Ben Hill County Hospital. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree as a Registered Nurse from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton. She worked as a nurse for Dr. Durden and also worked at the Ben Hill County Hospital and Dorminy Medical Center. Mrs. Taylor was a member of Crossview Baptist Church and the Esther Sunday school class.

She is survived by her sons and their spouses: Steve & Kathy Taylor of Fitzgerald and Mike & Chrisy Taylor of Ashburn; ten grandchildren: Melissa & Jason Brantley, Brandon & Wendi Young, Trent & Mollie Taylor, NataleeAnn Taylor, Greg & Hannah Taylor, Rebecca Taylor, Abigale Wise, Lynley Grace McCullough, Matthew McCullough, and Hunter & Kelsey McCullough; six great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Matthew Arthur of Warner Robins. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, S. Lee Taylor; a son, Scott Allen Taylor; a daughter, Beth Taylor Smith; two grandchildren: Emilee B. Taylor and Amber Taylor; two brothers: Huel Arthur and Clifton Arthur; and two sisters: Jewel Hester and Ivee Allen.
