Barry P. Carter, 55, of East Boston, MA, passed away Tuesday January 9, 2018 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, surrounded by his loving family. Barry was born August 9, 1962 in Malden, MA and was a son of Harry W. and Sandra (Black) Carter. He was raised in Derry, NH and was a graduate of Pinkerton Academy and attended Bunker Hill Community College.
Mr. Carter served in the US Army reserve and worked many years as a self-employed handyman in the East Boston area. He was an avid fisherman and was most happy when he was fishing.
Barry leaves behind his beloved son, Sean A. Carter of Derry, NH, his parents of Derry, his brother and his wife, Chad and Christine Carter of Portsmouth, his sister and her husband, Wendy and Michael Staggs of Londonderry and two nieces, Amelia and Kaitlyn. Barry was predeceased by his wife Patricia (Babin) Carter in 2000.
After cremation, a memorial service was held Sunday, January 14, 2018 at 2:00pm at First Parish Church, East Derry Rd. in Derry. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Derry Friendship Center, 6 Railroad Avenue, Derry, NH 03038.
