Margaret “Peggy” A. Hanson, 83, of Derry, NH, passed away Monday January 8, 2018 at Parkland Medical Center of Derry, surrounded by her family. Peggy was born December 29, 1934 in Nekoosa, WI and was a daughter of the late John and Lillian (Jennings) Buehler. She was raised and educated in Nekoosa prior to moving to Lawrence, MA and relocating to Derry in 1980.
Peggy was employed as an assembler with Raytheon Corporation from 1975 to her retirement in 1995. She later returned to work at the Christmas Tree Shop in Salem, NH, where she worked for 17 years. She was an avid reader and enjoyed going to Foxwoods and playing bingo. Peggy will forever be missed by those who knew and loved her.
Members of the family include four daughters and their husbands, Lynn Sue and John S. Murphy, Kathy and Robert Baillargeon, Shawn and Daniel Joling, Michelle and Michael Boraczek and her son and his wife, John and Barbara Hanson, 15 grandchildren, Heidi, Candice, Derek, Mark, Stephen, Jason, Eric, Lisa, Michelle, Jamie, Jonathan, Jodi, Ashley, Christopher and Joshua, 20 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Peggy was predeceased by her beloved husband of 49 years, Leonard J. Hanson, Sr. in 2001 and her son Leonard J. Hanson, Jr. in 1997. She was also predeceased by two brothers John and George Buehler and her sister Shirley.
A calling hour was held Thursday January 11, 2018 from 8:30 am to 9:30 am at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Road Londonderry, NH. Following was a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:30 am at St. Anne’s Parish, 26 Emerson Avenue, Hampstead, NH. The burial followed in Forest Hill Cemetery in E. Derry.
