Belmont-----Michael "Abe" A. Anders went to heaven on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia.
Mike was born on November 27, 1942 in Rhode Island, the son of Tony and Dorothy (Lessard) Anders. He was a lifetime resident of the Lakes Region.
Mike graduated from LHS, class of 1961, where he was selected to play in the NH/VT shrine game. He then went on to MCI Prep in Maine then on to Junior College in the mid-west as a All Empire Conference Player.
Mike entered into the Army Reserve, then deployed to Vietnam in 1968-1969. Returning home he was employed at the Kellerhaus for several years and then for AAVID Thermalloy for years before he went on to retirement.
Mike had a passion for football as well as working in his yard with his wife. He enjoyed trips to the ocean and to the mountains. He also enjoyed his time at the luncheons with his VA brothers.
Mike is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Stacy (Connolly) Anders, of Belmont; two daughters, Susan Stone and her husband, Chris, of Cary, NC and Karen Anders, of Belmont; a sister, Faye Hartford, of Fuquay-Varina, NC; two grandchildren, Katie and Jake Stone and two nieces and one nephew. Mike was predeceased by his parents and a nephew.
There will be no calling hours.
A graveside service will be held in the spring in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Laconia.
