Obituary

Ennis Ray Barnes, 78, of Brookfield passed away Monday, January 8, 2018, at his residence. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 12, 2018, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Dan Robinson officiating. Mr. Barnes will be laid to rest at his residence. The family will receive friends Friday, January 12, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

James Camp, Homer Franklin Jr., Joshua Caleb Walker, Malachi Dewayne Walker, Calvin Smith and David Morris will serve as pallbearers.

Born November 5, 1939 in Jackson, Mr. Barnes was the son of the late Harvey Ray Barnes and Eunice Davis Barnes. He was also preceded in death by one son, Luther Carl Barnes; and three brothers, Millard F. Barnes, Jerry D. Barnes and Jimmy C. Barnes. He was a truck driver and owner of Barnes Trucking Company and a member of Brookfield Methodist Church. He served in the Army National Guard and loved hunting and fishing. He had lived in Brookfield most of his life.

Mr. Barnes is survived by his wife, Lucile Nell Stogner Barnes of Brookfield; three sons, Ricky Barnes of Tifton, Jimmy Lynn Barnes of Enigma and Harvey Michael Barnes of Lake Wales, Florida; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Donna and Homer Franklin of Lenox and Mary Nell and David Morris and Crystal Faye Barnes, all of Brookfield; two brothers, Charles C. Barnes of Seminole, Alabama and Louie V. Barnes of Brookfield; nine grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
