Obituary

Madeline Arria, a lifelong resident of Somerville, passed away suddenly, at her home, on Wednesday, January 3rd. She was 59.

Born in Boston, she was raised in Somerville, and attended local schools. Madeline graduated from Somerville High School with the Class of 1976. After graduation, she went to work for Ames Envelope in Somerville. She worked there for 28 years up until their closing. She was currently working for Target, where she worked as a store clerk for over ten years. Madeline loved working for Target and being with the people in her community.

Madeline always had a happy demeanor and great sense of humor. In her spare time, she loved watching old movies, I Love Lucy, and game shows. Madeline enjoyed traveling with her family to Florida and taking cruises to Bermuda. She was a loving and thoughtful person that cared deeply for her family and friends.

Madeline was a cherished daughter of Carmelo Arria of Somerville, and the late Angelina Arria, who passed away in 1987. She was the loving sister of Maria Stackpole and Josephine Phaneuf, both of Somerville, and the dear aunt of Maria F. Stackpole, Matthew C. Phaneuf and his partner Nicole Harris and their daughter Chloe Phaneuf, all of Somerville. She is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be celebrated in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main Street, Medford, on Wednesday, January 10th at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 4 through 8 PM. Services will conclude with interment at St. Michael Cemetery, Boston.
