WORCESTER - Our beloved Beverly Lee Arrington was called by the Lord to join Him and the angels in heaven on Tuesday, January 02, 2018. Beverly was born on April 16, 1957 in Trenton, NJ to Effie Mae and Jimmie Lee Arrington. Beverly moved to Massachusetts at a young age with her family and remained a resident for over 50 years. Beverly was a graduate of North High School and attended Secretary School post high school. In her youth Beverly attended First Baptist Church and AME Zion in Worcester, MA, where she grew to know the Lord and develop her greatest gift from GOD – LOVE! She loved her family and friends unconditionally!
Beverly’s secretarial expertise allowed her to support her family at several companies, including Commerce Insurance in Webster, MA for over 15 yrs.
After leaving the work force, Beverly dedicated herself as a home maker to her lifelong partner Robert H. Lewis Sr. and to raising her children and grandchildren.
Beverly “aka Bal and Bev” was a very loving, caring, selflessly, humble, affectionate and fun woman. Every meal she cooked, dessert she baked and task she undertook was done with unbelievable expertise and love. She followed in her mother’s footsteps ensuring she instilled the importance of GOD, education, cleanliness, showing respect and having discipline at all times to her children. She always ensured everyone knew they were loved with hugs, kisses and stating – “I love, love, love you!” She was always willing to listen and help, but no secret was ever safe with her. She avoided conflict as much as possible and always wanted to bring peace in difficult situations. She didn’t let any of her personal tribulations stop her from putting others first - to a fault. She often stated, “They won’t miss me till the well runs dry!”
Beverly was predeceased by her parents Effie Mae and Jimmie Lee Arrington, siblings - Anita Arrington and Robin James. Beverly leaves to celebrate her life, Robert H. Lewis Sr. – Lifelong partner. Her children; Patisha Arrington (NJ), Rashine Arrington (Monica)(AL), Tishona Arrington (Liz) (MA), Jeffrey Arrington (MA), Serena Arrington (FL) Her stepchildren: Robert H. Lewis Jr. (CT), Lisa Lewis (CT), Robert “Robbie” Lewis (MA), Tammy Lewis (MA), and Richard “Ricky” Lewis (MA), her siblings; Dorothy Suggs (FL), James Arrington (Michelle)(RI), Dondria Lewis (Mark – Her other Mr. Lewis) (NJ), Her special Aunt Ruby Ruffin and Uncle Fate “Bud” Lane(Elaine)(NC). She has 37 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren of which 5 she raised; Shanyce Arrington, Rashara Arrington, Shalysa Climes, Essence Martinez and Jizziyah Smith. Nieces/Nephews; Princess Smith, Tatiana “Tashi” Thomas, Tajohna “Momma” Journigan, John “Bubby” Journigan, Sharika Arrington, James Arrington as well as a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to Beverly’s Life Celebration visitation on Saturday, January 13, from 12-2 p.m. at the CALLAHAN, FAY & CASWELL Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle Street, Worcester, with her funeral service to follow at 2 p.m.
