Obituary

CHICOPEE – Lorraine D. (Dion) Kasak, 89, of the Aldenville section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on New Year’s Day, Monday, January 1, 2018. She entered into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Holyoke on December 19, 1928, a beloved daughter of the late George and Lillian (Brault) Dion. She was raised in Chicopee, graduated from Chicopee schools and was a lifelong resident of Chicopee. She was employed at the former A.G. Spalding in Chicopee and later worked for many years as a dance costume seamstress at her daughters’ dance studio, Kasak’s School of Dance, which is now Louise Kasak’s Dance Academy, in the Fairview section of Chicopee. She also knitted many beautiful afghans for her loving family. She was a devoted mother and grandmother to her children and grandchildren. She showered them with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Joseph J. Kasak who was Called Home on July 3, 1987. She leaves her five loving children, Joseph J. Kasak, Jr., Louise M. Franczek and her husband, Daniel, all of Chicopee, Linda A. Kasak of Boca Raton, FL, Lorrie Adamczyk and her husband, Michael, and John J. Kasak, all of Chicopee; her four cherished grandchildren, Alison Chapdelaine and her partner, Matt Flathers, Andrea Chapdelaine, Joseph Chapdelaine and Justin Adamczyk; her two cherished step grandchildren, Justin Franczek and his wife, Christina, and Ryan Franczek and his wife, Amanda; her three cherished step great grandchildren, Theodore, Adelina and McKenzie Franczek; her two dear sisters, Teresa Caputo and her husband, Frank, of Springfield and Carol Drumm and her husband, Jerry, of Fernandina Beach, FL; her dear sister in law, Rose Mislak of Ludlow; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Kasak and Dion families. In addition to her beloved parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her dear sister, Anita Pfeiffer. Her Funeral will be held on Saturday morning, January 6, 2018 beginning at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 10 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her Burial will follow the Mass at Saint Stanislaus Cemetery, 800 Montgomery Street, Chicopee, MA 01013. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, January 5, 2018 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The parking lot and main entrance are located at the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
