Beryl B. Knowles, Jr., 84

Beryl B “Bill”. Knowles, Jr., age 84 of Mansfield, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 1, 2018 at the Life Care Center of Attleboro. He was the beloved husband of Beatrice (Milliken) Knowles, to whom he was wed on April 18, 1964.

Born in North Attleboro, MA on January 25, 1933, he was a loving son of the late Beryl B., Sr. and Ada B. (Denzer) Knowles.

Bill grew up in North Attleboro, was a 1950 graduate of North Attleboro High School and attended Northeastern University. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Following his discharge from the service, he returned to school and was a graduate of the Massachusetts Radio School in Boston.

A resident of Mansfield for the past fifty-four years, Mr. Knowles was a retired calibrator having worked at the Foxboro Co. for forty years, retiring in 1997.

Along with his family, Bill was a member of the Congregational Church of Mansfield. He enjoyed times spent with his adoring family, was a talented amateur photographer, and enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and abroad.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his devoted sons David F. Knowles of Mansfield, and Jon B. Knowles and his wife Jessie of Johnston, Rhode Island. He was the dear brother of Robert E. Knowles of Stoneham, Donna L. Polubinski and her husband Victor of Plainville, Dennis A. Knowles and his wife Pamela of Mansfield, the late Helen Pierce, and is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

His funeral service, to which relatives and friends are cordially to attend, will be held on Monday, January 8th at 11:00 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield. Burial will follow at the Spring Brook Cemetery in Mansfield.

Visitation will be held prior to the services on Monday morning beginning at 10:00 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, Bill’s family has requested that donations in his memory be made to the American Cancer Society, 1324 Belmont St., #204, Brockton, MA 02301.
