William J. “Bill” Stickney passed away on December 24, 2017, surrounded by his loving family.
Bill grew up in Malden and was a longtime resident of Saugus. He was a police officer for the City of Malden for over 30 years and a member of the Malden Moose and Knights of Columbus. Bill was an avid golfer and loved taking trips to Florida with his friends.
Bill was the beloved partner of 35 years to Alexis Peavey. He was the son of the late William and Elizabeth (Cronin) Stickney. Bill was the loving father to Jerry Peavey and his wife Jennie and Elizabeth Peavey all of Saugus and the late William J. Stickney Jr. He was the dear brother of Martha Stocker and her husband Ash of Winchester, Richard Stickney and his wife Jane of Malden and Philip Stickney of Rowley. Bill was the cherished grandfather to Garrett and Gavin Peavey, William C. Stickney and Courteney Moran. He was the uncle of Jennifer Stickney and Elizabeth Robinson and her daughter Hayden. He is also survived by extended family members and friends.
The funeral will be held from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home 865 Main Street, Malden on Friday December 29th at 10:30am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in the Immaculate Conception Church 600 Pleasant Street, Malden at 11:30 am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-8pm
Interment will be in Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden.
