Obituary

James “Jimmy” Amico, age 58, a long-time resident of Woburn, formerly of Winchester and Stoneham, died suddenly on Dec. 16, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Pamela J. (Biddy) Amico.

Born in Winchester, Jimmy was the son of the late Angelo and Jeanne (McKinley) Amico of Winchester. He was a graduate of the Northeast Regional Vocational High School with the class of 1977, and worked as a maintenance mechanic for the Woburn Housing Authority.

Mr. Amico was a proud American, who loved and respected our veterans. He was a member of the Winchester and Woburn VFW’s, and the Woburn American Legion. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing and following Boston sports teams.

In addition to his wife, Pam, Jimmy is lovingly survived by his children: twins Grace Jane and Megan Jean Amico, both of Woburn, and Matthew J. Amico of VA. He was the devoted son of the late Angelo and Jeanne (McKinley) Amico, and the dear brother of David Barstow, Robert Amico and Edward Amico, Jeanne Gigli, Jane Errico, and the late Paul Amico, Michael Amico and Steven Barstow. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather at the Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St., Winchester on Wed., Dec. 20 from 4-8PM. A Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home on Thursday at 11 AM. Burial is private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jimmy’s memory may be made to the New England Organ Bank, 60 First Ave., Waltham, MA 02451, as he was a liver transplant recipient. www.donatelifenewengland.org.
