TEWKSBURY: Joseph M. Penza, age 51, passed away December 9, 2017, following a courageous two year battle with brain cancer.
He was the beloved husband of Theresa M. (McAvenia) with whom he recently celebrated their 26th wedding anniversary.
Born in Lynn on May 9, 1966, he was the much loved son of John J. and Maria (Gambino) Penza.
Prior to his illness, he was employed as a Computer Technician by the Vicor Company in Andover.
Joe was a great musician who played in bands for many years and enjoyed listening to all types of music.
In addition to his wife and parents, Joe is survived by two children, Renee M. Penza, of N. Providence, RI, and Christopher J. Penza, of Tewksbury; one brother, John D. Penza and his wife Josephine, of Saugus; also numerous extended family members and friends.
Calling hours are Wednesday, Dec. 13, from 4-8 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. His funeral procession will begin Thursday, Dec. 14, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. at St. William’s Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment will follow at Tewksbury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Brain Tumor Association, www.abta.org, 8550 W.
