WEBSTER – Frances A. (Popiak) Sroczenski, 93, died Wednesday, December 6, 2017 in her home after a period of declining health. Her husband of 74 years, Louis W. Sroczenski, died in 2016.
She leaves two sons, Walter L. Sroczenski and his wife Marie of Webster, and Robert J. Sroczenski of Dudley; 6 grandchildren, Ami, Louis, Christopher, Rod, Lee and Keith Sroczenski; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, Walter Popiak of Webster; and many nieces and nephews.
She was born in Webster, daughter of Nikifor and Anna (Adamek) Popiak and was a lifelong resident. She attended Bartlett High School.
Mrs. Sroczenski assisted her husband in operating Hub Furniture in Webster and then Horton Furniture in Dudley.
She was a member of Saint Joseph Basilica and of the St. Joseph Polish Women’s Club. She belonged to the Webster-Dudley Garden Club and served on numerous social committees. She loved to paint landscapes in oils and water colors. She enjoyed her home on Webster Lake, spending time with her entire family up until her last hours.
A memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, December 19 in Saint Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb Street, Webster (please meet at the church). Burial will be in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster.
