Maryrose Lynch died on December 5, 2017. She was born in Worcester, MA on May 13, 1944, the daughter of D. Joseph and Rose A. (Crowley) Lynch. She worked for the Diocese of Worcester for four years before moving to the Diocese of St. Petersburg, FL, where she resided and worked until her retirement last year.
Maryrose graduated from St. Paul Cathedral Elementary School of Worcester in 1958, from Ascension High School of Worcester in 1962, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1970 from Worcester State University. She also earned a Master’s Degree in Religious Studies from Barry University, Miami FL in 1978.
Maryrose taught for 30 years as an elementary school teacher at Blessed Sacrament School, Worcester, and taught at various schools in Florida. She also worked as a Director of Religious Education in the Dioceses of Worcester and St. Petersburg. She retired from the position of receptionist and Sacramental Record Keeper at St. Brendan Catholic Church, Clearwater, FL.
She is survived by her brother, Joseph T. Lynch of Franklin, MA and his wife, Kathleen; nieces Erin Lynch of Franklin and Meghan Lynch of Somerville, MA; nephew Brendan Lynch of Hopkinton, MA; a grandniece, Sierra Lopez and grandnephew Kai Lopez, both of Franklin.
The family would like to thank the caregivers and staff of Brookdale Cumberland Senior Living for their dedicated service to Maryrose in her final illness, and to Beacon Hospice for their care and support.
Her funeral will be held on Saturday, December 9 from the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 131 Main Street, Franklin at 9:15 followed by a funeral mass at 10 in St. Mary’s Church, Church Square Franklin.
Burial will be held on Monday, December 11 in St. John’s Cemetery, Worcester at 1:00 p.m.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 6-8 p.m.
