Barbara (Lopes) Soares, age 71, of Wrentham, passed away on December 5, 2017. She was the wife of James Soares and daughter of the late Daniel J. and Rita F. (Joubert) Lopes. Barbara was a secretary for Barry Industries and a founding member of Fall River Birthrite. She enjoyed reading, playing cards, traveling, motorcycling, and spending time with her family and friends especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her daughters, Pamela Knieriem, and Deborah Stringer (husband Bradley), brother; Dennis Lopes, grandchildren; Samuel and Emily Stringer and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her son-in-law Gerald Knieriem.
Her calling hours will take place in the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Friday, December 8, 2017 from 4-8 P.M. Cremation to follow. A mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. in St. Martha’s Church, Plainville, MA. Interment at Wrentham Town Cemetery.
